Sepsis can lead to multi-organ dysfunction and has a high risk of death, and maternal sepsis is considered to be one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. In this study, we show that pregnancy causes a decrease in the abundance of intestinal Paramecium (Pmerdae) and the level of its derived metabolite prickly manducin (FMN), leading to intestinal flora disorders... It also induces triphasic cell scorching, resulting in low overall immunity and insufficient clearance of invading pathogens, thus accelerating the death of the septic host. This study reveals the regulatory role of the "p.merdae-FMN-hnRNPUL2" axis in sepsis, and provides a new strategy for the development of precise therapeutic regimens for immune disorders caused by sepsis in adolescence.
